Our story
How a personal journey led to a passionate community.
Welcome to Joinr! I’m Bethany, the founder of Joinr.
In my teens and early twenties, life felt like one long string of social plans, new hobbies, and spontaneous adventures. Then, like so many young Australians, I hit my mid‑twenties and everything shifted. My closest friends were still the same incredible humans — we were just moving through different phases of life. Some became parents, some threw themselves into their careers, and some moved interstate or overseas. Suddenly the people I’d spent five days a week with were living completely different rhythms, and I realised I was feeling a bit lost, a bit disconnected, and unsure where my own sense of purpose had gone.
People kept telling me to “rediscover what you loved as a kid,” but honestly… I couldn’t remember. I knew I wanted to feel excited about life again — to try new things, reconnect with my curiosity, and feel part of something — I just didn’t want to do it alone. And that feeling, I’ve learned, is almost universal.
That’s what sparked Joinr.
I wanted to create the thing I wished existed: a welcoming, low‑pressure space where young adults can explore new interests, build confidence, and form genuine connections through shared experiences. A place designed to help you find your people and your passions, and to make life feel a little more vibrant, purposeful, and fun.
